In this scam, criminals are contacting victims from a spoofed phone number, stating that there are fraudulent charges on a debit or credit card, and asking them to divulge transactional and personal information. DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM!
Alabama Teachers Credit Union will never contact you to ask you to verify online passwords, ATM/DEBIT/CREDIT card numbers or PIN numbers over the phone or through text or e-mail. If you believe you have been a victim of this scam and have provided confidential information to the scammers, please contact us immediately at 1.800.470.0704.
Our card provider, Falcon (through CO-OP), will identify themselves as Card Member Services on behalf of Alabama Teachers. They will never ask for your card number, expiration date, or CVC (security) code.
- Verify the last four digits of your Social Security Number.
- Ask to verify the amount of your last transaction or payment.
Depending on your answer concerning the transaction in question, they may block your card and forward you to Alabama Teachers during our normal business hours; otherwise, you will be forwarded to their customer service.
