Member Information Connection (MIC)
This simple-to-use service allows you to obtain account information, 24 hours each day, by calling 1-800-910-4808. MIC allows you to conduct monetary transactions, check account balances, transfer between accounts and learn what checks have cleared, all in one convenient and confidential phone call.

Using any Touch-tone® phone, call Alabama Teachers' Member Information Connection whenever it's convenient for you. Here are some general instructions to help you get started with MIC:

  • As an additional level of protection against Identity Theft, ATCU will require that members answer a security question each time they call. Please note that the question will pertain to the primary account holder such as the last four digits of their social security number/Tax ID # (for a Business account) or their birth date.
  • Each call may last up to five minutes. It's easy to enter data or respond to voice prompts asking you for information, and MIC will allow you up to three attempts to input information before your call will be disconnected.
  • Press the pound (#) sign to end your call or terminate input.
  • Press the star sign (*) to instruct the system to repeat current information.
  • Press the star sign twice (**) to return to the previous menu.
  • Press the nine key (9) to return to the Main Menu.

Remember - you may use MIC now to inquire about account balances, find out about cleared checks or deposits, hear the credit union's loan and deposit rates, and much more. It is not necessary to sign a MIC agreement to perform these inquiries.

What can MIC do for you? MIC offers you a variety of information at your fingertips, such as ...

  • Transactions, withdrawals, ATM transactions, direct deposits or dividends for Checking, Share and Savings, and Individual Retirement Accounts;
  • Account balance, purchase date, term (months), interest paid year-to-date, annual percentage yield, and next maturity date for Share Certificates;
  • For loans, the account balance, line of credit, available line of credit, last payment amount, last payment date, next payment date, payoff date, payoff balance, daily interest and interest paid year-to-date. And, you may request loan advances to your line-of-credit loan;
  • Current rates for savings and loans.

First time callers to MIC ... will select a four-digit personal identification number (PIN) on the first call. It's important you keep your PIN confidential. If your PIN becomes lost, stolen or needs to be changed, you may change your PIN yourself by calling MIC (select Set or Change PIN in the Main Menu option). Or, if you prefer a complete lock-out of your account, call the credit union during business hours.

  • You may select your PIN at each of the Main Menu options (except Rates Information, Loan Modeling, and Transfer Funds).
  • You may use the same PIN as your ATM card or select another.
  • After entering your base account number, if there is no PIN on file, MIC will prompt you to enter your Social Security number.
  • After MIC verifies your Social Security number against the Social Security number shown on the base account number you entered, MIC will request that you enter a four-digit PIN two times for verification.

How to enter your account number and sub-account identifier ... Your account number is the base member account number you use to identify your credit union account. Your sub-account identifier identifies the various sub-accounts (shares, checking, loans, club accounts, etc.) which are listed under your base account number.

  • When asked to enter your account number, enter only the base account number; do not enter the sub-account identifier.
  • To Transfer Funds or Request a Check, first enter the base account number (here, you must include the sub-account identifier) from which the funds will be transferred or withdrawn.
  • Enter only the sub-account identifier desired when you conduct these transactions:
    • Information on Checking Accounts;
    • Information on Share and other Savings Accounts;
    • Information on Share Certificates;
    • Information on Loans;
    • Transfer to Account.

More about transfers and loan advances...

  • Account transfers and check withdrawals made using MIC will count as one of the six withdrawals allowed per month without penalty, in compliance with Regulation D.
  • Check withdrawals must be at least $25; checks will be mailed the next business day. Withdrawals, of course, are allowed only when funds are available.
  • Loan advances are allowed when Line-of-Credit and Line Of Credit Expiration Date are current. These advances may result in payment changes and may also require changes in payroll deduction. If these changes occur, we will mail the necessary forms to you for your signature. Please return the signed forms to Alabama Teachers Credit Union as soon as possible.
